Seems that PS Jailbreak is going to be aggresive

Earlier, i have reported that PS Jailbreak will charge you for other PS3 firmware support, now Xaco has revealed that PS Jailbreak will charge around $25 for that kind of firmware support, meaning you can update or downgrade your firmware but getting the PS3 Jailbreak ability in your console as well.

Unlike the open source PS3 Jailbreak exploit that are currently available in the internet for free, PS Jailbreak currently can be only be used on PS3 console running 3.41 firmware while PSFreedom can bee seen running 3.01, 3.10, 3.15 and of course 3.41 firmware version of your PS3 console. But, the downside from this is that some newer games won’t work with the older firmwares although you can enjoy the OtherOS support in the other end.

Nonetheless, it is still not clear whether PS Jailbreak”s PS3 Firmware Support would work with all games. Recently, the Backup Manager 1.1 (Which is not officially released yet) have been tested by DiscoAzul owner. And according to him, the game compatibility has increased significantly. Well, like the rest of us he is using it on a 3.41 PS3 firmware console. So, whether we can have the same compatibility with the 3.41 is another things around imho.

What do you think about PS Jailbreak “monopoly” attempt to charge people for other PS3 firmware support? Would you buy it if all the games can be played without any problem as well as enjoying PSN online gaming without losing the PS3 Jailbreak availability?

Note: The legitimacy of this news is still not confirmed as the source is not directly came from the PS Jailbreak itself.

Is that all you do is link to dukio?

Anyways, its reasons like this why I would like to think that Sony is shutting them down, of course its not but a guy can dream that Sony isn't a massive greedy company but they are no better then PSJailbreak. Honestly I hope they do get shut down because its just ridiculous.

If its true thats just bad, especially for the ealy adoptors who paid a heck of a lot for the original device, when it was advertised as compatible with all firmwares.
Make sure you butter the non reflective side of your CD's / DVD's and Blu-Rays so that when you drop them, they land butter side down thus preventing scratches.

lol what a load of rubbish. You're really basing that on some random guy's comment?
They haven't even proven their shitty dongle is upgradable yet, let's not get ahead of ourselves.

According to that random guy name, it's xaco. And the guy who tested the Backup Manager 1.1 is also named xaco. Coincidence?

    Are they having a laugh?

They will also go on to charge existing customers?

Does the product even exist? Aren't they shipping in 2012?

I heard this same rumor as well. Of course, as soon I asked them about it, the guy I've been talking to since day one suddenly became "only a sales person" who "does not have any information."

Personally, I think it's true. I also think it will kill them dead since, obviously, it's an insult to the people who've already paid a premium for their original product. If they do this, and even if they don't, the functionality will be ripped in less than 24 hours.

I wonder if they will sell this "special" firmware on its own, for use on custom Jailbreak devices? If they do, and nobody manages to clone it for free, I reckon $25 is a bargain and worth paying. If it requires that you have THEIR Jailbreak device and/or someone manages to clone the firmware, then screw them XD
