Earlier, i have reported that PS Jailbreak will charge you for other PS3 firmware support, now Xaco has revealed that PS Jailbreak will charge around $25 for that kind of firmware support, meaning you can update or downgrade your firmware but getting the PS3 Jailbreak ability in your console as well.
Unlike the open source PS3 Jailbreak exploit that are currently available in the internet for free, PS Jailbreak currently can be only be used on PS3 console running 3.41 firmware while PSFreedom can bee seen running 3.01, 3.10, 3.15 and of course 3.41 firmware version of your PS3 console. But, the downside from this is that some newer games won’t work with the older firmwares although you can enjoy the OtherOS support in the other end.
Nonetheless, it is still not clear whether PS Jailbreak”s PS3 Firmware Support would work with all games. Recently, the Backup Manager 1.1 (Which is not officially released yet) have been tested by DiscoAzul owner. And according to him, the game compatibility has increased significantly. Well, like the rest of us he is using it on a 3.41 PS3 firmware console. So, whether we can have the same compatibility with the 3.41 is another things around imho.
What do you think about PS Jailbreak “monopoly” attempt to charge people for other PS3 firmware support? Would you buy it if all the games can be played without any problem as well as enjoying PSN online gaming without losing the PS3 Jailbreak availability?
Note: The legitimacy of this news is still not confirmed as the source is not directly came from the PS Jailbreak itself.
