£279 for a handheld console is seriously taking the piss.
Not necessarily. With the iPhone Verizon had first dibs at exclusivity but they wanted to brand the iPhone (like they do or did all their phones) and Apple would have none of that. They could not come to an understanding and so AT&T ponied up the $$$ and let Apple take control.
Could be the same here. Maybe it wasn't just money (since less money but much larger coverage could equal more sales) but maybe Verizon couldn't be reasoned with.
In any case it is what it is. I wonder if it'll be just 3G/edge/gprs or will also have HSPA+.
Could be the best thing since the invention of the wheel, but anything made by Sony can kiss my ass, I wont and never will buy anything Sony ever again. I may buy used items, but only if I can hack them to bits.
I'll buy a system new, but only if it's already been hacked. Otherwise I don't bother. I was never going to get a PS3 till I read that it was hacked. Blew my mind... Then the crusaders showed up and reminded me why I stick with PC games.
I hope Blizzard puts LAN in Diablo 3. If not then I just play it once through and never touch it again. That's what I did with Hellgate London.
Also, the 3DS doesn't need a price cut to compete with Sony. Nintendo systems print money even when hacked to hell and back. That and Sony tends to shoot themselves in the foot a few days before or after a new system launch. Then Sony removes most of the features a few years later. Then sues any body that so much as murmurs the word hack and Sony in the same sentence...
Agreed, I'll buy it once it gets hacked and the price is lowered (I'll try get my hands on the older model as well since they end up being the easiest to break and first). I can't pass up the opportunity to have a portable gaming device that rivals the Ps3 graphics, but like a laptop, the battery will die out quickly, maybe in two years or more if it has that much power, that's the down side.
Hopefully hacking it will be legalized since it's kind of in the same limelight as an Iphone.
