Sony Computer Entertainment boss Ken Kutaragi has reportedly stated that the PlayStation 3 will feature backward compatibility for both the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation games. The news is hardly surprising, although previous rumors had suggested that the backward compatibility of the PS3 would only stretch to PS2 games.
Thats all that was said for now.

Who wouldn't want to have a console that plays ALL the games for the system? Adds value and loyalty to the brand name.The Yellow PS2 auto-boots all. PS2, PS1 stealth and DVD movies.
