PL3 Updated – MOH Now Running Without Need of Game Updates

You installed the game using Hermes payload. Delete the game data and re-install using PL3 payload and it will work.

I haven't even gotten as far as installing the game though

then it was copied to your internal drive using hermes payload. Thats why your getting eboot.bin not found. Its there, just doesnt have permissions to it.

I deleted my download so it's going to be hassle to redownload etc, when I only want it so I can check that it works for future reference. I've no interest in MoH as I heard it's gash

to be honest after reading this thread , i am awere that kaks payload is the future but as i am currently using hermes v4b and do not have any issues with any games, what is the reason for flashing my minimus , wasting time and reinstalling games ? With the current dynamic of the scene you get at least 2 new payloads in one week. I will just wait , while seeing some users have different issues with this new pl3, and those problems will be fixed after one or two days. People who do not have enough time to test all the new payloads (me) would like to thank all the testers for their time and contribution in the scene. See you on the next payloads thread

meffle, if you want , use this PKG file. You have to do it using hermes v4 payload though, then switch back to PL3.

It will change the permissions of all files on dev_hdd0 to give PL3 access to read them.

Should also fix any other game installations you had, so you wont need to reinstall them.

Wow, that's fantastic, I just tried it and it's now installing the game data.

? Did you check illness's thread? I have 18f2455 and the hex he made worked fine.

This is all good info, glad you've tested it out man. Basically what this means is that if you want to run PL3, best bet would be to delete all game data or your going to run into problems.

Still, i think your jumping on the Kakaroto bandwagon of bashing hermes. It has nothing to do with "clean code" or "dirty code". What it comes down to, is that Hermes is a hacker 1st, coder 2nd. He was able to get games more compatible with various methods, one probably including this higher user level. Being in that mode, its writing files with those permissions. Obviously a drawback if you ever boot in a mode with lower permissions.

Is PL3 the better route to take? Probably. But don't deny that we will most likely lose some game compatibility going that route, until more information is learned and implemented into PL3.

im not bashing hermes at all. your misreading that. i am simply stating that hermes code is infact dirty. why people dont understand this is beyond me. this whole permission thing should basically prove it. sure hermes can fix it if he wants. but fact remains as of now, his code is getting things done in a quick and dirty way which is obviously causing problems.

im just trying to inform people and prove this, which also happens to backup kakaroto's posts. call me joining his bandwagon all you want but when i want to use my ps3 in retail mode, i CAN because with PL3 and can't with hermes new payload.

regardless, after waking up my last test had finished (didnt have time last night was up till 6am testing). and that is NUS PL3 does not elevate any permissions and all stuff installed in jailbreak mode work fine in retail mode.
