p.s. are u telling me i can burn at 4x with this new media??????
That is what I am wondering. It sure sounds like it. That would be awesome if that is the case.
yes it would, i dont have any blank dvd's at the moment but my comp says the 104 will now burn cds at 12x where as it would only buren at 8x before, hmmmmmmmmm, maybe 4x DVD's![]()
or maybe just read the faq
Q. Will the new Firmware update allow my DVR-A03/103 or DVR-A04/104 to record to the new high speed DVD-R media at 4X ?
A. No, the new firmware update does not enable recording beyond the specified maximum of these drives (i.e., 2X).

...Are you sure? I upgraded & there was no change at all...
BTW- what was with the forum the other day? I couldn't log in...
so there's a change in CD-R writing speed but not DVD-R writing speed. hmm, still can't complain at the little bit quicker CD-R writing increase.
I see 3x on DVD-R, but I didn't try that.
It was with The Document of MGS2 in ISO under Nero 5.5.9.9 and using 2x for all.
