It seems the illustrious "Sjeep" has finally released the source code to his PGEN proejct. For those that are unaware, PGEN is the PS2 port of the "Generator" Genesis/Mega Drive Emulator. With it, you can play your old Genesis/Mega Drive ROMS on your PS2.

You can obtain the source in the downloads section of his web site:
    http://pgen.gamebase.ca/
USA v9 SCPH-50010 Datecode 3C and USA Network Adapter
JAP v0 SCPH-10000 with v1.00 Utility Disk and JAP External 40GB HDD BB Unit
    w/ Tray Switch

Wow... now what someone needs to do is merge it with Snes9x or ZSnes somehow, so we can have a decent Snes emulator with features like booting/loading ROMs off hard drive ^_^

I'm not an elite enough programmer to do it myself, I don't think ;P

Edit: I noticed I can't seem to find a license or anything with it. Are we to assume it's public domain? That seems a dangerous thing to do though.. I assumed it would be under the GNU General Public License (GPL) but I see no mention of the GPL anywhere. If he doesn't grant us a license or some other form of explicit permission, then under copyright laws we have no rights to modify/redistribute it (AFAIK... IANAL.)

but there isn't any snes station source avaible you need to rewrite it from the ground if you want it (at least at this time)

The core part of Snes-Station, Snes9x, is open-source and available at www.snes9x.com.

It doesn't need to be rewritten from the ground up by any means, but of course you'd have to redo Hiryuu's PS2-specific optimisations (unless he takes SJepp's cue and releases them...)

Well seems that the other site actually reported honestly about pgen, and some more threads and stuff has mysteriously dissapeared from their site. Hmm....

anyway, it's nice to see the source finally get out there over to the official generator pages.
