The main problem is that they DO already exist, and all are sticky. But people do NOT bother about reading them. The main problem is the "which mod is the best" type question that pops up every second day and everyone adds his own opinion and then the game starts again and again every 2nd day. Shame. Also there were DECENT reviews a few years ago, now it seems there is not that many that helped people to learn a lot of things about mods/boards/fuses etc.Originally Posted by poppa-smurf

Remote avatars only would be best i think. No one should have problems getting a photobucket account and hosting them there.
Maybe, but instead we get the usual problems for pages that are assembled from components on several sites. If a single one of those sites is overloaded then ps2-scene forums will suffer from it. I've already noticed this sometimes, for the few icons which even now are hosted on other sites.Originally Posted by kaioshade
Anyway, my main motto for this kind of thing is:
"Don't fix it if it ain't broken."
Personally I'd give up avatars completely rather than have them accessed from another site, for the reasons stated above. But I guess I'm sort of biased that way from the start, since I never used any avatar.

I definitely see your point. I have always seen avatars as a bonus for forums and not a necessity, so if they have to go, there wont be any complaining from me.Originally Posted by dlanor

One site I visit has a script or something installed so that once they reach 800 connections you are blocked from viewing until a slot opens up. It's a big pain in the ass if you ask me but might be worth considering, especially if you just block guest connections. I'm sure alot of people just come here and roam around without logging in.
