i never really knew him though.

Mother Theresa had gone, now the POPE. I feel deeply sad for who will lead the world now? Deep lost. I wish he'd would stay a little bit more when so much bad is going on right now, but I', too, happy too for him where he is now. Bless you JohnPaul, help us from above.
may god make a better place for him.. although i am a christian... never met him but he is one of the good men left in this world..
A great loss for all peace loving and freedom fighting people around the world, I pray that who ever comes to take his place continues to take on this world unfairness in the same headstrong way.
May God take care of him and all that need it.
>an atheist said< (rough qoute) Although I do not share his belifes, I hope that if thier is a god that he will bless the world with another man as great and as influencail as Pope John Paul II.
I was one a the few (well... many) people in this world that have been close enough to ( with my countries flag in my hand) touch the Pope Mobile at the 2002 World Youth Day, in Toronto Canada... I was able to have mass that was guided by non other than JP2 ( as we all called him) him self. I received communion that was handed from the pope himself to a Cardnial that has then given to me. I have seen the awsome power off god, and this is the power that enabled JP2 to after being carried off a helicopter ( he flew in over the crowd of 1.2 million catholics and .3 million non denominationals) the first day he arrived, to being able to walk ( arm in arm with the arch bishop) up the stage to give the intire mass, In Italian, Polish, and English i might add... My only wish is that i did not get to see more of his wonderfull power and grace through his iron clade will and determination.
R.I.P Pope John Paul II![]()

Most Protestants do not consider Catholics to be real Christians, to be placed alongside Mormons, Jehovahs Witnesses, etc... . That is not something to be debated about here, however. My only point is that there is only one judge of that, and people should do well to not stand in His place.Originally Posted by necrolop
R.I.P. JPII, now let's prey his successor does something to stop the inequality that has been rife in the Catholic church. Maybe now women may be treated as equals & the church will do something to combat the spread of aids that they are quite responsible for. Or will we be still in the 21st century but treated as if we are medievil ?
You know, I wondered where in the world such a troll could come from, with such illogic as to be unfathomable, and then I finally ran across such references in the news quoted from "gay" activists.
AIDS is hardly rampant at all in places where Catholocism (or Protestantism for that matter) are in the majority. There are some other notable non-Christian religions/cultures where this is also the case. The places where AIDS is rampant are places where the Pope has had no influence. It is intellectually dishonest to hold him responsible for any of that.
As for women, they are as equal in Catholicism as anywhere else. Oh yes, they cannot be priests - that doesn't seem to have negatively affected their status outside of the religious hierarchy at all however.
Go troll elsewhere. It is amazing how people would try to tarnish the death of one of the most saintly persons in the world.
