NZHawk has released a neat little program for your Jailbroken PS3 console, it dumps live lvl2 PS3 RAM!

NZHawk's Awesome Peek Poker

What is it?

Awesome Peek Poker is a homebrew application that allows you to view/edit the lvl2 memory on the PS3 during runtime!

What for?

Well, we can then apply patches to the memory. Things such as Hermes controller fix, PSN (Need the offsets) etc. I presume as we find out more about the PS3 and lvl2 there will be more patches shared with the community. And to begin with, why wouldn't you wanna play with the ram!?

NOTE: Pressing square to dump lvl2 will save the dump to "/dev_hdd0/dump.bin" please use the ftp server app by blackbox or use Comgenie's Awesome File Manager to copy this off to your pc.

Please delete an existing dump before dumping again! It will increment to the file!

Yes, there are a lot of bugs at the moment. But the core functionality is there! I released this 'early' due to school work taking priority for a few days.

Version 0.2+ has been compiled with the 3.41 SDK. This makes it smaller! (8.5MB) but only work on FWs 3.40+!

The name for this glorious piece of software is way too modest. I'd suggest renaming it to something a bit more respectful, say:

1) multiorgasming peek poker of infinite wizdom
2) perfect peek poker of endless awesomness
3) ideal peek poker of accelerated wtfpwnage
4) God's peek poker of divine leet haxxorness

it might still sound way to modest, but you get the idea.

Today is madding weekend, everyone fighting to post news first.

Come on guys and girls work together, otherwise I only allow myself and Xianaix to post news first.

I had two delete two threads together, and I decided to move one OP poster to the front page, and the other OP poster to the front page for the other news story.

So now they should both be happy, each got some news printed on the front page.

But really guys if you want to report news you need to find the very first news post, like the author's thread or blog itself, and attach or at least give links to the videos and stuff.

No posting of new news is bad, but fighting over posting of news is worse. -- Let the scene flow freely!

Thats quite true, NZHawks blog is the definitive original source, but as he is a mod on PS3HaX, the original news is sourced there, not PS3news >.<

But anyway, it doesn't matter, lets enjoy this the work that all the devs do

Anyway, this is great news!

If only we could execute two programs at once (this and say a game) so we can dump the memory while a game is running. Maybe plugins will start coming out like the PSP, but we will need CFW for that.

I've been reading this thread over here: Mathieulh discusses patching groove to get on PSN again (3.41) some already doing it - Page 10 - PS3Hax Network - Playstation 3 Hacks and Mods

Seems with this tool they've almost figured out where to poke the version reply of your console. Put more simply, the ability to get back online by faking the firmware version check.

This sounds like the sort of thing you would use to cheat in games like a cheat device all of the older consoles had. Would this allow me to modify a game and then play it with the modifications?
