they should be selling the code period
Now loy i don't want to go against you but come on, we have to be reasonable. They have to make chips somehow. Chips cost money...But again, down to the software end, the coders should get some money as well. But that just means that we customers get charged more I believe.Originally Posted by loy

had to pay 10 or 9 for that matter!!! I aint telling u's what price i get
them for, but whoever told you that was the price was lieing to you.
And i dont think it was the official distributor. It must be an Official reseller
or one off the distributors on there website!
But that is not the price i get mine for! An that aint the price ANY off the official
resellers and distributors get them for either!

Ugh, this is very disconcerting news. I wish I had known about it previously. Time to start shopping around for another cheapmod for V1-V10 consoles.
I dont know much about this subject!
But some people are saying its true and some are saying its not!
It would be nice to know for absolute sure what the awnser is!

Yeah,... I'm also concerned as I was thinking that the DuoChipII would be a nice, cheap solution for v1-v10 PS2s. I recently picked up 5 of them to test out, but I've yet to install any of them.
I'd also like to hear some sort of confirmation that these chips are 'faulty'...
Well homer mentioned that there are clones around (funny thing to say based on this thread...) these may be faulty but the ones I tested were not.
Gameplayer - has reported that he has a batch of 10 from some source (no idea who) that don't seem to boot more than 2/10 times but - I suspect clones are being used - clones of ICE loaded chips if you like <G>.
Problem is that the clones are more than likely running the pure version of ICE without the custumisation / bug fixes that TO has done.
Flame me if you like but almost all code available at the moment is based on somebody elses code somewhere in its' past so should we just not buy any chips?
And for small time installers and resellers there is just no way that we could knock up a chip like the Duo for the kind of money we can buy it complete for.
