Myth Chip: Infinity Clone W/V14 Support Or Just A Myth?
Myth Chip: Infinity Clone W/V14 Support Or Just A Myth? –
Yawn.. the ps2 scene gets more boring by the minute....
Comsoft has posted some very interesting news regarding a new chip which is oddly reminiscent of most of the infinity clones on the market. This chip unlike the infinity and its clones has support for V14 (SCPH-75001, no word on the other revisions). Most of the info comes courtesy of NeoAsic's Myth Page and no other third parties have reported about this chip just yet. You can discuss this further at This ongoing forum thread (New Chip Called Myth).
And once again, thanks to Comsoft for the news.
That info is out of date since... yesterday.. real Infinities with V14 support are shipping already, and they released V14 diagrams recently as well Havent found out if upgrading them before putting them into a V14 is possible though, since the onboard recovery software is no good.

hmm interesting, time to post that as news too. Regardless, the chip couldnt have possibly gotten into cloners hands, ripped and packaged within a matter of hours. More oddly is the fact that the green dot infinitys have yet to hit shops yet.

Its actually a bit scary and and a very first for the ps2 scene, cloners actually improving on the design of the chips they ripped.
This can already be seen in the latest modbos with the latest infinity firmware hacked to run without anti-clone protection. Im not writting all of this in support for clones. Anyone who has been around this site long enough knows my stance on cheap, blatant HK knockoffs. Cloners for the first time have beaten the original creators to the punch, kinda scary.
thought this was the common practice of RE since the birth of ps2 chips?

My personal 'official' stance on clones: dont buy them, even if it costs a mint more to get an origional imported - and always be sure that the premod you are getting has a real Infinity wrather than an "infinity" - Not so long ago I had tried to help someone down in Thailand-ish area, who bought a V10 or so premod from a local shop, back when Infinity put their new protection in he had not known they sold him a knockoff for the same price as the real thing until he couldnt use his chip any more.

(I wish I could think of a really great example, but ones just not coming to me...)
Infinities are not so tough to get, and really not all that expensive when compared with the clone, and the support that comes along with that Infinity has been some of the best quality wise that I have ever seen from a producer to an end user. Luke and his infinite patience be praised
Looks like this chip works fine in 75004 PAL GH-037 , NeoAsic Reports.
