you dont quite understand. By the time you buy the case and swap discs you run yourself almost as much as a cheap modchip and installation. It makes no sense to continue swapping in these days where modchips are so easily manufactured and obtainable for the general public.

the reason is is i developed the fine motor skill to screw a screw driver at about the age or 5 but have never been good at sodering first time i burned my self... so i guess its just ppl feeling unsure and worring about messing with a very fragile machine.

EDIT: and i can always take off my flip top and send it back for repairs... after warranty with no seal.

Not to mention that some games don't work with SM, and then you have to patch games, etc etc. It's not worth the hassle. I had the SM discs and swapped, and getting a decent chip was the best money ever spent. (But lets not turn this into a flip vs. chip debate)

Back on topic - Limtk55 - the PS2 symbol and the Sony logo are registered trademarks and by putting them on cases which go on a Playstation is pretty strong trademark infringement. I'd highly recommend removing them since Sony will not take nicely to having their trademark infringed. Just my $.02

Other than that, they do look very very nice, and to whoever wants one, I'd recommend getting one quick before the seller gets a C&D letter.

I goin' towards flip top, all I wanna do is play some of my PS1 collections,
like metal slug and shooter games. Since I have GS version 2 with PS1 disc...

I know I can solder, back then I chipped all of my friends PS1 for free.. I just gave mine to someone far away...
My PS2 was a gift from my brother, having second thought getting a DUO 2SE..

It makes no sense to risk permanent damage to one's hardware when one can get the needed functionality without the risk.

It makes no sense to waste money, either, especially when the Japanese games are so expensive (ahem, and what other supported reasons for modification are there here? :-). I spent $50 total on my new lid and swap discs. What's the minimum to buy a chip, ship the system (better buy insurance unless you want to cry when the UPS men drop it), have it modified, and ship it back? More than $50 I'm sure.

yes but swap crap is such a pain that most people that use them for a while end up getting a chip in the end , so that means they waisted $50 .

Well, we can't deny that in the age of v12s that often blow up with chips in them, swap magic doesn't seem quite so bad anymore. Also, since the original case is a flip top, then new replacements will fit a lot better. so it has never been better for Swap Magic.

Are these case replacement cases all flip-top? I saw some pics of some clear cases for the older ps2's with the blue ps2 logo on them. If there not flip-top clear cases I would be interested in buying one. They look better then some I have seen. But with small pictures on his web site and not being able to access the gallery on the web site I can't see what the clear cases really look like.
