Seeing as it will be a multi-platform game, they are putting their product out there for lots of people. This will of course lead to piracy in some cases, so why not spend a little extra time to try and make the game more secure? I know that adding the Move features will take time. If they were really focusing on motion tracking, they would of course also say that they're trying to add the same for the XBox Kinect or for the Wii, but they're not.
Not to say Konami isn't doing this. It's just a little strange in my eyes that this report comes out a couple of days after Black Ops gets leaked for the 360 and the PS3 version is already running on backup manager.
So yes, it may be baseless, but it is my opinion. I don't have to state facts to have an opinion, after all. I just happen to try to back it up whenever I can and clearly state it's opinion when I can't. And I do give the scene a little credit, these guys are a smart bunch. The only gullible people out there are the ones who accept rumors as facts without reading sources or those making baseless accusations for baseless opinions.
How do you delay a game that has not been given a release date or even a year of release?
This is a baseless claim, stores have not recieved dates and Kojima Products have not given one, 2012 is still in line with the average development time of a Metal Gear Solid game which usually take two to four years.
This game does not use the same engine designed for Metal Gear Solid 4 which took four years to develop in itself.
Considering Kojima Products have to port this game to the Xbox 360 as well this 'news' holds absolutely no weight but that's just my opinion which is as baseless as this 'news' which personally i would not have posted in it's current form.
Again, my personal opinion on the matter, but I am stating facts.
Konami did release promo vids to MGS2 during E3 of 2001 to be released during the holiday season. European release was delayed over 3 months (March of 2002 compared to November 2001 for .us .jp), but packed with extras.
MGS3 was supposed to be developed for the PS3, but Konami decided to push the date forward and port to the PS2 because the PS3 was taking too long to develop.
MGS4 was not promoted until about Jan or Feb of 2008, even that was a teaser for the summer release that same year.
With this history, I doubt Konami would be foolish enough to publish box art and other promotional material (There was a teaser trailer last year at E3) if they didn't intend to release it soon (as in this holiday season).
I'm sure there's those who will cry "Nukem" at this, but Konami is no 3D Realms.
So would you really say the date being pushed back that much is "normal"? I highly doubt it.
