I am authorised and pleased to state on behalf of the Messiah 2 Team that production has now commenced of Messiah 2 chip v1.30.

The new version of Messiah 2 supports DVD-R on v8 PS2 (v8 is currently defined as GH-022 motherboard with BIOS 090) along with all other functions of the Messiah 2. The number of wires remains at 24.

All being well, I should find time tomorrow (Tuesday) to perform my formal tests on the Messiah 2 v1.30 with the v8 console and report to the forum accordingly.

There will be further commercial announcements shortly in relation to the Messiah 2 range.

[Edit: 04-Mar-03 - removed reference to speeded up DVD-R load]

What are some reliable dealers that sell messiah 2?

Now that Messiah and DMS have fixed their chips (still waiting on Charlie's reports), I am still confused on which chip to get fo my V7 system. Are they about the same price? And how can you tell which version of the differen't chips you will get? Are there any distinct labels or such?

Either chip will work on your v7 system. DMS3 is around $79 (it has additional non-gaming features - see www.dms3.com); Messiah 2 is around $50. S/H to be added.

I can answer for Messiah 2; the rear of the chip contains a version label.

Crazy_iSo, 1.3 is not in production yet. Current version is 1.22a.

There are lots of Messiah 2 dealers around the net, we are one of them

I'd say go for a Messiah 2, since it boots everything and the dms3 has some problems with rips.

I don't play rips bcause it screws the lazer faster. so dms3 is just what I needed.

Errata: 24 wires (CLK), did you forget this one?
