No doubt you seemed to have made a mistake that some people didn't appreciate. Now your trying to get passed that and this is the first step. Problem is people are not going to forget. This is just an opinion, do what you want to do and if people don't appreciate it or like it enough to donate, they won't, if they do, they will. You are very talented and people see that, try your idea above, what have you got to loose. Other suggestions, change your name and make a new fan base with your new work, then try it again with a different approach. Nobody can blame you for wanting to cash in, others already have. I heard mention of PS3's being sold with multiMAN already installed on it and/or the Hermes dongle crap that went down a while back. Point is, it SEEMS that your no different from the rest of these vultures that make money off someones name or work, it's up to you to prove this wrong. I realize you are actually doing the work that is in question, this may be your only true leg to stand on when asking for donations. I see your point, but I see the masses point also. It is a pickle for sure. Regardless, keep up the good work.

Wow, I hope all your friends see that post and think your cool. (sarcasm) Why kick someone when he obviously noticed he has made a mistake and is trying to correct it ? Where do these people come from ? how old are they ?

No mistake made, on the contrary, it actually showed that alot of people go crazy when they have to pay for something. Name change will never happen - Ive had it 25 years lol. You obviously havent read previous posts that I have made...

Ive been getting quite a few suggestions off friends as to how I can go about releasing my productions for free. One which stood out was that I release everything as donationware but with advertising, for instance advertising donation links, myself, dean and maybe graf. By making a donation would remove the advertising. When I say advertising I dont mean great big massive banners, I would say something more conservative, reasonable and non intrusive. Having spoken to a few very talented homebrew developers from the iphone/ipad scene they are of the opinion that if people have the option of not paying for something, they will most likely not pay for it. But if you develop something that many have found useful or would like to see continued development on, then there are still a few generous souls out there. I must say you guys on here have somewhat restored my faith in people and for that I say thankyou

Sounds like a good idea to me. Personally I haven't donated as I was waiting for your Star Wars update, but when it was released I didn't like being told I HAD to donate. I'm not saying I won't ever donate but if the update had originally been released as a free download then I would have done already. I think if you keep up the impressive work then the donations will come, maybe just not straight away. People will want to know that you're sticking with it first and will be continually updating, much like Dean has done with MultiMAN. I hope this is more constructive.

I think I have proven that the majority dont give a damn about the developers as long as they keep releasing things for free. This culture has to change or it will be goodnight PS3 scene and beyond...

You did make a mistake, you gave us v1 with no mention of donations and then you let everyone get hyped up for 1.5 and release it with a mandatory/forced FEE calling it a donation. If you are asking for peoples opinion, as you were in the post I responded to, maybe you should take your own advice and read the link you got for Donationware.

Dean is fully capable of acquiring donations for himself, it's a good gesture, but, in disguise, it SEEMS to me that you are just skimming for money for the work you've done, which your entitled to, but your just riding on the coat tale of others. Don't ask for opinions and then get all defensive when you don't get the feedback you expect. SEEMS to me your just making another mistake. Expecting, forcing and then asking for something, it didn't turn out how you expected when you tried to force donations and now your blaming the people for the possible future downfall of the scene because you don't see donations in your future, especially after the mistakes with PR you've made already. Believe it or not, I was trying to understand your reasoning before, now I could care less.

The scene was here before you, we'll be here when your gone.
