Matrix Infinity Firmware V1.75 Released!
Matrix Infinity Firmware V1.75 Released! –
12-14-2005,04:03 PM
New Features and additions:
- VGA support added
- Main language loading fix
Notes :
- VGA suport was added to this firmware relase. You can now use the original blaze vga adaptor without
the boot cd and enjoy the enhanced games compatibility that this version brings you on your vga screen
(with full original ps2 browser and dvd movies support in vga mode).
- The language selected in the browser was not correctly loaded when BOOT MODE was set to DEV1.
Program automatically loaded on boot from the memory card had the incorrect default language.
More information and download is available from the Matrix Team site.
Discuss this in the official Matrix Infinity support forum located right here on PS2-Scene!
Thanks to N£TM£ÇH for the news!

A schematic of the cable will be soon online on our site for those skilled in the art of patching things
together
It still keeps amazing me how many features they were able to build into this chip without adding an external flash...

Cool, how fast the update for this chip is. Just upgrade my firmware to this via mem card (dont have to burn cd everytime i update firmware and throw it away anymore). There's one thing i'm waiting for is the new Matrix Manager that has the option for install ELF in Dev 2 mode and boot it. But anyway, keep up the good work guy. Thanks for ur fast release.

I have to say, throughout its life some updates were slow (DVD9 support) but yet they managed to develop a chip that worked on V2 consoles and support the same hardware design straight through to V14 - and havn't stopped development on it yet. No S.E. versions, Pro versoins, lite versions, re-releases or anything.
The only thing that would of made this chip complete was a USB flashport for those who have one supported for a V12 console and got the V14 hardware, as theres no way to flash the chip on those revisions without installing it in another console that its supported on first. (Maybe they will release a schematic for reprogramming the chip without installation - never know)
Still, amazing job and great investment for someone who wants a small package with the kitchen sink stuck in there too. Can't wait to see what else they can develop before the PS2 is phased out.

I doubt you will ever see this, they can do hardware/assembly but as for executable code they havn't came out with anything useable.
For now just use flashFXP (pasv mode disabled) to FTP into your console with ExecFTP and mount the boot partition using the raw command 'SITE MNT /pfs/0 hdd:__BOOT' which should mount the boot partition under the PFS folder 0. Now transfer the ELF file you want to boot, called 'BOOT.ELF' (I think it has to be ALL caps to work in most cases) to that folder, then execute the raw command SITE UMNT /pfs/0/ so you don't corrupt your HDD before you power down. The umnt command is very important! don't forget to do it, or you may get a corrupted drive.
The Boot partition of your HDD can hold ~125MB of elf files, use something like launchELF to select them on boot if you would like, so you can have 20-30 ELF Files on there and select them on boot, which I Find much better than the browser. Now select DEV2 in the config and be on your way, or hold L1 while booting to select that ELF if you prefer another boot method.
You can reference to this site for a more detailed procedure - but they are mounting something different.
