The Infinity Team have released a new version of their firmware for their Infinity mod. The readme states the firmware has "Firmware Code Enhancements". Probably more anti-clone features to thwart the increasing number of lame clones on the market. It also throws hints at a 2.0 version coming soon!

thanks to asapreta for the news.

    ..to see they're still alive..
Curious about the v2, though they don't say anything about 'soon' as you stated..
I'll check this one out immediately.

    Cheers,

    Ferrie

hmm nice... waiting for an advanced VGA option.
Like 480p and maybe even more :P. And proper progressive scan support.
Then this shit would be the best chip for your ps2-projector setup.

hmmm i have a projector setup now.... is it possible to make it look better ? I'm currently using the component cable, but am about to buy a s-video.

The projector has component, s-video, and vga inputs.

Using matrix with the version firmware thats before this release.

Some games would probably look alot better using the VGA patch in the firmware and a VGA cable, s-video is a tad sharper than component cables but gives no where near the resolution/sharpness VGA should.

Can't understand your line of thinking here, unless you mean composite, not component.
S-Video only uses 2 signals for video, separating chrominance and luminance. Component use 3 signals separating the luminance signal, and chrominance into two signals.

    Component is better.

can't follow you on that one. As far as I know that's not possible. And second, why the hell would you do that since Component is way better than s-video.

(Makes me think back at the time I was looking for a component cable. No shop in the whole city had it. And at a huge mega store called Mediamarkt they even denied it existence. There policy is: "If we don't have it, it doesn't exist". They were absolute sure that s-video was the best the ps2 has to offer. ****ing dumbasses:P)

But I would to like to see a force 480p function since only a few games support 480p. Second, does anyone know what exactly has been improved with this update?
