Could someone tell me where to get the xbox nand hex.
I'd like to switch too, but EyePet doesn't work with PL3 AFAIK. Once it does, I'll give it a go.
I'll run PL3. Why? Because Hermes v4 is the last one. No future support means everyone going to have to move to PL3 since it will be the only one getting updates. Might as well run it now and support the BMs that run with it so they get better. Gaia comes out with a update every other day it seems and hopefully PL3 will be updated pretty often. I'm sure if the JB team every comes up with anything by lets say Oct 20th then I hope we will see that in PL3 in no time.
As far as all these rants and speeches, I wish they would post some news that has to do with something I'd actually want to read and the coders would spend their time coding instead of caring about public oppinion.
Totally agree. I'm a 80% n00b, and can't follow the discussion progammers have, and I have a hard time understanding it all. When I want to understand something I don't know where to start. But the way KaKaRoTo takes time to explain, and the way he is doing it, makes people like me understanding. He is nothing but great!![]()
the guy just wrote like an essay...

Erm, yeah Team GEN was also releasing updates for PSP but I decided to stay at the 5.00 M33-6. If something has a support, it does not mean that it is better. Not always at least.I'll run PL3. Why? Because Hermes v4 is the last one. No future support means everyone going to have to move to PL3 since it will be the only one getting updates.
My ps3 does crash whenusing hermes' payload. Sucks causemy save data gets corrupt sometimes. But still glad i have a jailbreak. Is there a way to use PL3 on the minimus or is it only for phones?
I absolutely agree with this comment. I've read through all the different posts about Hermes and KaKaRoTo and as a Developer by profession I can tell you that working properly with code is more than "Tidying" it up. It can be an utter mess with code that is not functional to work with.
To Hermes defense he did never claim to be a coder and is a contruction worker with some free time. He's contributed alot of good ideas and he deserves credit for what he's achieved.
Now with that being said it absolutely pisses me off to no end that the freeloaders on this forum blast KaKaRoTo so hard about his comments. I agree with him 100%, and it sounds like he has done programming / development professionaly as an actual job. What none of you realize is "THIS IS HIS FREE TIME". You piss and moan about what it does or doesn't do but you don't "Contribute" anything to the actual bottom line of the code base. If you've contributed or done anything other than download or beg for Hex compiles so you can "Steal" games of the Internet and play them free on your PS3, then you "Might" have a leg to stand on when commenting on his posts.
This is just my opinion on this whole ordeal because honestly if I were KaKaRoTo after all the backwash of all this spam or hate towards either him or PL3, I'd just say "Screw you" and take everything private and not release another piece of code. Then were would the scene be?
So before you post useless comments about who's better or who's right realize:
- This guy is taking his free time to do this.
- He even cares enough to clear the air or comment on garbage posts about him
- Think before you post. Is your comment benificial or is it just troll spam or flame
- Enjoy the work of others and provide contructive feedback.
- Don't push, beg, or complain about releases. Ask instead how you can help the scene. Troubleshoot issues and provide ideas when you have them.
So with all that said. I'd like to say it's a very exciting time for the PS3. I'd love to see more homebrew such as XBMC or other custom development being done. Playing "Free" games you've downloaded off the internet and didn't pay for is probably 99% of why Sony is so pist about the whole ordeal. My ideas about piracy are my own but systems wouldn't be so closed if it wasn't for piracy but piracy also wouldn't be near the level it is if games were priced at a reasonable level. The whole system should be reworked so games are affordable, developers and development studios can make a profit so new games can make it to market, and systems could be more open and allow for scene involvement. I know that's like a dream and it will never happen but hey one can wish for it.
Sorry for the long post but just my 2 cents.
