Jochen Hippel Tribute Music Disk
Jochen Hippel Tribute Music Disk –
Seems we missed this bit of news a few days ago.
has made available a Jochen Hippel Tribute Music Disk
with source code for PS3 homebrew fans.
To quote, roughly translated: "The encoder french NoNameNo scenes PSP, Wii and PS3 now, today gives us a new HomeBrew its creation. This is a compilation of the best music by Jochen Hippel famous composer of music for video games.
This homebrew is 100% legal, because it is among the few to have soft PSl1GHT been compiled, an SDK not using alternative file copyrighted by the Japanese firm. For interest, you find more sources of PGK program in the archive for download.
Use the D-pad to move the cursor, you move R2 for faster X to start the song, select to change the size of the font for those with small screens and start to exit."

How cool.. anyone that had an Atari ST or Amiga (or both ) will be very familiar with this guys music.
Nice ! But I guess the youngster these days don't know him and don't appreciate chiptunes anymore
Yep, i love those Mad Max yamaha sndchips. We used to hear them in every demo/dentro or games.
finally some demoscene production (musicdisk definitely fits) for ps3.
i didn't have atari st nor amiga, but i'll give it a try. maybe i'll catch something familiar.
i wonder if we'll get UAE on ps3 someday. i hope that the hardware can handle it.
oh, those were the days...
"turrican" and "the last ninja" were so great!
i remember recording the music from "giana sisters" and "great courts 2" on a cassette so that i could listen to it where ever i was.
and i played these games so long. man, i can't think of any game in the last 15 years that was so motivating and fun in the long run.
these games are just a few of all the games he wrote the music for.
that man deserves a lot respect and what a nice way to show that!
really cool stuff!
oh, and regarding uae, you must be joking. that thing runs on psp and xbox and whatnot. we'll definitely see a port to the ps3.
Nice, but surely not having Sony code doesn't make it "100% legal" when it includes copyright music from many publishers other than Sony (I haven't noticed any Psygnosis games yet)?
Nice work anyway.
I agree, but anyways i'm not against a "tribute". As many other things, despite being illegal, is morally justifiable.
