As far as I know, Borderlands doesn't have files larger than 4GB. The only ones I know of are...

-Killzone 2&3
-Uncharted 2 (maybe the first one also)
-Final Fantasy XIII
-Metal Gear Solid 4
-Star Ocean The Last Hope
-Motorstorm Pacific Rift

If you managed to get any of those working off an external HDD, then you are some hacking god and you should share how you've done that.

Oh yeah, that and the Undead Nightmare DLC. Someone should compile a list of games that have files larger than 4GB. That way people are informed.

Oooohhhh man. Well, I'll just admit that when I start a project it just never gets finished. Mainly because of work and I get preoccupied with games. You know, the usual excuses.

Anyways, I've tested Killzone 3 and Final Fantasy XIII. Both of them are confirmed working. The best part is that the split files are copied to the cache only once per game. Well, that's just based on the two games I've tested. I also highly suggest using a disc with these games. I tried FF XIII without a disc and my saved game got corrupted. The save was from 80 hours of gameplay I had when the game first came out

But how does this caching work? Because you can't put 4GB files on an external HD. Where does it cache from? I still need to split 4GB files (Uncharted 2) to get it on an external HD

Iris Manager takes the splitt Files from USB and merges & copies them to HDD.

Tested Killzone 3 and Uncharted 2, both work from USB.

Anyway, I tried this, and it isn't showing my external drive's contents. How do I switch sources or get it all to show up at once?

You should take the Sly Trilogy out of the list. It's not a game with files larger than 4GB. Also, Final Fantasy XIII does work without a disk, but I had some complications. I loaded an old save file I had from when the game was released. There was some weird loading, audio problems in the menu, and when I went to change characters none of them showed up in the world. I was pretty much stuck. When I went to go save my game, it also corrupted my save file. The sad part was that I lost 80 hours of game time because of that.

So I'm just going to suggest people use a disk with that game. Just until the BM's perfect discless loading.
