No I believe the hdld_svr.elf requires an IPCONFIG.DAT.. not sure where as have a bunch everywhere and can't remember where it was, but if you run it through ps2link you'll see where it wants it (otherwise just uses built in defaults).
as to the command just replace the hdd1: with the IP address of the ps2 (no ':')

Also, what is the argument in the cmdline that tells it to install to the network drive? In the examples I only saw "HDD1:".

[offtopic]i think we should all agree for a standard location for IPCONFIG.dat, so all programs that need it can use the same file.

and would you like it if this was brutally ripped by some lamer group and the whole "stolen code BS" as you like to call it happened all over again to the point where he wouldnt want to work in it anymore? People like you are so stupid, you only care if it suits your interest.
Congrats you are the winner of the two-faced lamer of the week award!

Perhaps you misunderstood me. What I meant was... "Here is a release that is for the good of the scene, from a selfless author who (to my knowledge) hasn't stolen anyone's code, which has become quite the topic of controversy of late."
Did you have a bad day?
No hard feelings if you misunderstood.
And secondly, Why Would I care if it didn't benefit me? What are these programs made? I'm sure any auther would say "to benefit the user and the scene." Now I may be pretty new here, and I'm not a wealth of information or have m@d c0ding skillz, but I appreciate the fact that you guys are keeping it honest, and I haven't patronized ps2Ownz since I realized how corrupt they were.
So if it's not cool here to thank authers for their hard work, I'll stop doing it.

No, i dont think i misunderstood you at all. Every devr that gives their work for free is just as selfless. If they would have wanted their work used in something commercial they would have simply sold it themselves instead of giving it away for free. Just because they dont want their worked used in a particular way doesnt make them any less selfless than the next.

A devr that sells his works for profit is just as selfless as one who gives it away for free? Is it just me, or does that not make any sense at all?
Are you upset because I only gave thanks this one time? Who's to say this isn't the FIRST time I thanked someone, and that I'll be thanking EVERY devr who releases anything for the scene for the rest of it's existence? I don't wanna argue, but it really irks me that I got branded a "two-faced lamer" by an admin on my fourth post, after THANKING someone for making a cool tool.
I considered Just shutting up and leeching everything from now on without giving any gratitude for it... but I have respect for the people in this scene (with a few glaring exceptions at this point).
So if I really AM a lamer, just let me know and I'll go away. Hopefully though, I've made my point and I'll be able to stick around and make some cool friends with a similar interest or two.

LOL I see your point.
Look, I seriously hope I didn't give anyone the impression that I'm a jerk who begs people to release stuff just so they can play a few more games on their PS2. I've been following the development community since I would go to my college library to download new versions of ZSNES, which only ran F-Zero and Mario World, so it's not like I don't know what dev scenes are all about.
That's all I really have to say, I guess.
