hmm anyone get this to work over the network ?
yes, injecting a game right now as a test (seems pretty slow so far) , 97min for 3gigs 0.5MBps (just started though) I guess if it saves burning a disk (burning and hdloading it would probably still be quicker for me currently) maybe that other one will be faster.
Here's my steps:
you need IPCONFIG.DAT (pretty sure it has to be uppercase) in your SYS-CONF dir on your memory card, I used ps2menu-k to copy this over
IPCONFIG.DAT looks like
IP NETMASK GATEWAY
then run the hdld_svr.elf (you can do this from ps2menu-k as well)
then when you run hdl_dump use the IP as your device instead of hdd1: or whatever
well just using hdl_dump alone can save burning, and 97 minutes for 3 gigs is waaaaay too long. I think I'll wait to fap it
ah yes, but I'm lazy and hate moving my hard drive back and forth, but I agree waaaay too long, hopefully fap is faster, and by the sounds of it will be released very soon

They just updated the post and I also asked but fap is going to transfer at 500-800kbps, not much faster than hdl_dump (which is doing 600 right now at about halfway through.
Hey, if this is possible, could one just burn the games onto the PC Hard Drive (Which will hold tons more than my PS2 HDD) and burn only the games that I want to play on my PS2 at that time using HDL_Dump.
Or will a faster way to transfer games faster from the PC to PS2 come soon????
This would be way too slow currently to want to do this. I'd recommend just getting a dvd burner and having copies of everything and just loading it up for your game of the week or whatever

Can you honestly tell me there is ANY game you can't wait 2 hours to play? This solution is a dream come true for me, whose PS2 laser is a wreck waiting to happen and who has a laptop (to which I can't obviously connect the ps2hd). Thank you author!

I'm currently trying it and of course I'm having a problem.
It seems to work well with toc and extract commands (I'm currently downloading an iso from ps2 to pc).
But the inject_cd command always says "File not found".
I'm sure the file given in the command line is found by hdl_dump.exe (when tracing system calls under windows or wine).
Hope the text will be more clear in next versions.
Anyway, the work is very impressive, I'll look forward next versions and (I'm hopefull) linux binaries (Would I dream if I say source code ?)
