With the increased visitors to our website and the arrival of usbadvance we were thinking of seperating the HDD Forums into seperate subforums in order to keep the area tidy and to help better support both NA/IDE interface HDD and USB interface discussions. We decided to post this poll to get some feedback on the changes. Please vote and post your thoughts here.

I voted "No. I dont mind the clutter!", but that needs to be clarified.

Obviously I DO mind the clutter sometimes, but I consider much of it inevitable for a forum of this nature. Splitting off the USBadvance/USBextreme stuff would help very little, and I don't think interest in that stuff will remain this high very long, and then we'd have a meaningless forum with no more visitors than a single thread in the current forum might have. What's the point of that...?

There have been (and will be) other subtopics like this, that momemtarily attract so much interest that it appears necessary to make new forums for them, but being too quick about it would be a mistake. In most cases such fads die out again very shortly.

Besides, why should USBadvance/extreme be considered MORE important than HDL/HDA, which still hasn't got a forum of its own ?!? However, do NOT take that as my vote for making any new HDL/HDA forum, as I'd be against that as well.

The present mix of forum works, even if it does get a bit cluttered sometimes, and I see no reason to split forums until the test of time has shown that the clutter is due to more than just a temporary fad.

    Best regards: dlanor

That's a good idea... or maybe you could have a dedicated forum for IDE HDD and another one for USB HDD. Only counterpart is, you'll probably find the same questions asked in both forums (does it work with GT4 ?!? ), whether it applies to USB or IDE hard drives. You decide ! :P

    I voted yes...
I'm for different sections, mostly because hdloader/hdadvance is on a different (and evidently advanced) phase. Usbadvance is still lacking "initial phase" support from the scene. People too often go on saying "this thing is too slow! screw it!". But we're not here to discuss wether someone should or should not use usbadvance, we're here to gather infos to share with others... comparing the two products won't lead anywhere.
And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many...

I voted yes, split them. If also possible, to make a separate Sticky only sub-forums where people can find files, tutorials, etc. Make the Sticky so only admins could post there. It will reduce all of the clutter I think.

Being a mod there I am unsure. People will want to know the compability of one game on both hdl and usbl. So not sure, upto you admins.
