I don't think the clone is Mathieulh's work to release. He just says "someone from our group" cloned it. So it's probably that person's decision on what/when/how to release, and all signs point to it not being released in its current form.

So I would not expect that they would make some kind of friendly hex+schematics "kit" as long as the only thing available for it to run is the PSJB backup manager. However, if they release good info someone else might do it.
It's nothing that Sony engineers couldn't have found out themselves as soon as the retail units started shipping. At worst this probably shaves a few weeks off of the time it takes to close the hole.

Could they really patch that with software?
LOL i really doubt it (and yeah he is a good guy) but he doesn't usually share his work, anyway, the only thing i might see is this being released/leaked by someone under other alias.

2: Playing online will almost certainly get you banned as it does on the XBOX 360. If you're smart, pick up a dead YLOD PS3 from some person cheap and get it fixed (i got a second one for $50 and repaired it for $20). This way you can keep one offline.
