So from what little I know about encryption and the PS3, this is mostly / only for encrypted system files correct? Also, I believe I read that decrypting something does not give us the means to re-encrypt it correct? So basically this is to decrypt system files to look at what they do / how they work (via reversed assembly or something?). We can't change them because we can't re-encrypt them. But one could say look at PS2_emu.self or something and see how the PS3 handles it and potentially find a way to call it or something right?
