If you start a hacking git hosting site by cloning the friggin' gitorious infra git, the LEAST thing you could do is run a

on the source. This is not an encouraging start.

Gitorious is in AGPL license, we need to maintain the copyright part!

And that's where the scripting part comes in.

Front page, about, FAQ - all speak of gitorious, not git-hacks.com. Gitorious is besides the infra, also a registered trademark... ( at least according to http://git-hacks.com/about

).

Keep in mind while Canada doesn't have DMCA (I am Canadian), we do quite often fold to pressure from the US or corporations.
