For getting dev_flash3 or dev_flash, it does not matter, you have to decrypt every tar file with the depkg and then extract all of them, someone posted a complete noob guide, let me find it, ah here : netkas.org » Guide: extracting dev_flash from firmware update.

You can read this or completely give up, because it's clearly not your forte:
netkas.org » Guide: extracting dev_flash from firmware update.
For extracting core_OS you need a parser however.

If we can emulate the PS2 maybe they can emulate the Wii.....buy a PS3 move and then you can tap into that vast library of shit that the Wii offers.

I know none of you bitches could beat me at Petz Horsez 2 and there is nobody in their right mind that would even dare try to play me in Baby and Me.

you need to specify an output file (I believe)

To be honest, and I mean absolutely no disrespect (because I am completely usless when compared with the people who can do this stuff, so I am the worse of the worse ) , but if you cant use this tool with ease, then maybe its not for you (this applys to me too, but I could compile and use it, that's about it though.)
Make sure you butter the non reflective side of your CD's / DVD's and Blu-Rays so that when you drop them, they land butter side down thus preventing scratches.

daGraveR from PS3news has updated this(himself I believe)
depkg.zip - FileSmelt File and Image Hosting

    Things changed:

    - Doesn't crash when run without arguments
    - 2nd argument (output file) is optional, _decrypted will be added to the filename if omitted
    - Writes the raw decrypted buffer when inflation fails

It just the source so you'll need to compile it again.

This now allows us to run the program on a PUP, then use offzip to get every single decompressed file in one go.

Does this all mean I can load media onto my hard drive and get PS3 boot it up?

Or do I need to use BD-Rs?
