Last night Geohot announced by irc channel that he has successfully patched lvl2!!!

Alot of people here only seems to be against PS3 backups. But playing backups are just as bad as playing downloaded SNES games. Commercial SNES games aren't open source, they are just as PS3 games also under copy right laws.

So everybody should stop having double standards and shut the hell up. Playing PS3 backups are just as bad as playing old SNES ROMs, and I hope that Geohot makes it just as impossible to play ROMs as PS3 backups. If you want to play SNES, go and buy a SNES console and some games, they aren't that expensive these days.

No, what I mean is use ps3tools' "ungpkg" program to unpackage a PSN PKG. This gives you a directory. Then run an FTP server on your PS3, and put that entire directory into your GAME folder. Try that.

We are talking about 3.55 right? Would Blackbox FTP server work?

He isnt adding restrictions, he is simply not implementing certain syscalls, nothing that cant be changed by a dev who knows what there going. if he was adding restrictions he would be deliberatly coding extra layers of protection, and i cant see him doing that. . .

when this was announced as a WIP and the youtube vid was shown some one posted a pastie with geo and the other devs discussing EXACTLY doing that i wont use any CFW these guys make its not trust worthy if you EVER want a BM at all
