I believe Fail's work has been acknowleged appropriately by all in the past, now that Geo is under the microscope it would be better for him not to say anything about the scene beyond himself as anything said in this interview could be used against him in this cases, true or not. Sony has already fabricated events and twisted stories in their claims.

Take the interview with a grain of salt, I'm sure he was advised about what to say and what not to say by lawyers.

Love or hate the guy, he has enabled me to tether my ipod over bluetooth to my blackberry with homebrew and his legal jailbreak. You can't knock what he's done for the community.
+1 People don't realize just how much stuff is in those documents. Sony is clambering for anything to use against him. So he's not gonna mention failoverflow because it would give sufficient evidence to prove one of sony's claims.

Without the otheros removal I wouldn't be able to play 30 games and roms every month. So thank you =) and by the way, you could still have otheros, if you didn't update...

Fact of the matter is, geohot has been a public figure for hacking scenes for awhile. Yes he may be a bit high on life, but wouldn't you do the same in front a of a lawsuit if you got calls? I know I would. If I got publicity for it I would definitely take advantage of it, so i can hopefully instill a positive image.

Also whether or not you like geohot, he still does not deserve to be sued. This case may well set precedence so he needs to win. Otherwise it's a blow to the console scenes. So try and think about everything at stake instead of just geohot.
full rsx was available in the early firmwares then sony decided we don't want you having that

PS3 Firmware 2.10 blocks RSX access?

geohot is not to blame at all it's the fat cat sony

Exactly, Plus all Geohot wants to do is drive home the word jailbreak. Because jailbreak is allowed on phones, most likely what ever Judge they get will not have a clue about "hacking" all of this will be above his/her head. They need to make the Judge believe what he did is no different that what is allowed on phones and that the law needs to be extended to all closed hardware devices

i used to blame geohot for the removal of otherOS but either him or someone would of tried to hack the console and inevitably sony would of removed otherOS sooner or later. plus he paved the way for PS3 hacking.

now he's given us a basic cfw v3.55 for others to build on and now he's being sued by sony. my iphone is jailbroken and i gotta say thanks to geohot. i gotta root for the guy.

i sure as hell don't like sony spying on my console by pulling a list of activities from my PS3 during system start-up. its a really tacky move from sony to try scratch up anything to charge geohot.

His jailbreak allows you to install unsigned packages, and nothing more.

Exactly. He's keeping it quiet, that's also why he didn't mention the keys or anything else. Because if he did, Sony will try to make him look more bad. I bet his lawyer even told him this.

Also, it wasn't his fault for the removal of OtherOs. That was Sony's fault. End of. They could have done a different way to patch the exploit, but they didn't. They removed OtherOs cause they were lazy.

Dude I was siding with geohot. I was never blaming him for anything. I was merely saying he was trying to get full RSX support as it was removed. I'm on the same side as you m8.
