I think sometimes lose sight of what it means as opposed to what it does.
It doesn't matter than you can't use backup managers, that is irrelevant and i'm sure will come in time. It's the fact that signed packages are being used and that's forward progress.
28 years old mate. Way too old to be arguing with children.

I don't understand why they (hackers) assume that by allowing a backup manager to run it is piracy. It has other use for original legal customers. If I had 50 games, I would hate to have to switch disc every time I want to change a game. I would love to have them on HDD and switch them without leaving my sofa.
I know it allows piracy too, but there are many things in life that can be used for both good and bad. It's up to each person.
Sony and other console makers should make this possible with their firmware. It wouldn't be that hard to sign the games on HDD when installing from original discs and allowing them to run without the original disc inserted. That assuming they don't screw up the console security like sony has.
All I want is a backup manager working on CFW, a developer could easily make himself well known if he did this.
If only this current crop of devs were as smart as Dark Alex. He knew it wasn't his job to preach about piracy, he just got on with making the best software he could and left it up to people to decide for themselves. Whether people are willing to accept it or not, there are legitimate reasons for using backups (some people can actually afford to buy games too instead of having to download them). If Dark Alex understood this, why can't everyone else?
The problem with this is renting games and used games. If you can install and be done than people will rent a game, send it back and be able to play it anytime. They would have to institute a code with the game so you can download the game or just an enabler for that one game.
