The removal of OtherOS from the Slim was what got GH started in the first place. You should ultimately thank him, due to his work (in addition to others), you will get a fully functioning (better than the crippled OtherOS) Linux build on your PS3 soon.

It's the truth of it all and you can't say it's not. Not all of here want games for free I just want something I paid for when I bought my PS3 the OtherOS and if it wasn't for geohot opening his mouth before he had a true hack for the PS3 we would \have never lost the OtherOS.

Production methods, casing and branding all aside, the slim is structurally identical to the old phat models. Sony removed Other OS because they wanted to, because they knew it was a liability; if Geohot hadn't "opened his mouth", it would've happened sooner or later anyway. And that isn't just baseless speculation, given the circumstances.

Seriously people what the hell is wrong with you? All this bitchin about egohot wont make him release his exploits. Did he do all this to try to get sony to hire him? could be(and what he did mas a major show of skill, i dont blame him if he wants to earn big bucks). Point is, he's done some great work, now instead of bitchin about him being an attention whore and why he wont release anything(dick move by the way) we should sit tight like we have been doing all this time and let the talented people do the work.
