Sony really need to drop this, there going after a niche crowd since most people who game on psn will opt to update there ps3 rather than take advantage of this exploit. They should focus on making there online experience on par with MS than try to screw people for using there PS3 hardware which they own - to the fullest.

Umm, maybe they don't want their console to turn out like MS did? Almost everyone that owns one has one that is jtagged?! Or they are just that heartfelt about it. Either way, they can do whatever they want, it's their console, we only hold it in our house and keep it safe for them. Until now.

I havnt had a chance to look through all the docs, but does anyone know if netzke name is mentioned anywhere in there? That would explain why he hasnt released the android apk

The Jtag exploit came out after the August 2009 update which killed it. So if you updated it like a lot of people, you couldnt Jtag. The Jtag hack didn't become popular, I would say, until December. So the Jtag community is far smaller than the PS3 jailbreak scene. Just my own opinion

Ditto, not to mention the jailbreak is cake compared to the jtag, not everyone who owns an xbox jtags, and not many who had the chance to do it never did because it's not easy for the average person.

Maybe this is why Sony is trying to pull out all the stops. It can do what the jtagged xbox can do with ease. I can tell you many are buying ps3's because they didn't want to risk screwing up their xbox, when they can easily do it on the ps3.

Sony should start bribing their users with good firmware updates to make the Jailbreakers think twice. Fighting them is not going to help at all. RIAA shutdown Napster, look what happend, morpheus kazaa, direct connect were introduced. Those were taken care of, now torrents are running the show.

If Sony wanted people to stop or even avoid people from exploiting their system, how about you make it worthwhile for the person to consider. Removing features is one thing but ignoring what people want? Where can we file a lawsuit for that? You get what you give, Fair game.
