Froggies PS2 Coding Contest #2
Froggies PS2 Coding Contest #2 –
Our good buddy and ps2 coder Evilo has informed me that a new ps2 coding contest for the french ps2dev hub froggies ps2dev will begin soon. The theme of this contest is to remake your favorite game from the 80's! It can be any game you wish and the competition will begin in september so there is still plenty of time to begin to ponder what remake you want to begin on. There will be more information including prize announcements posted on the froggies page as soon as the contest officially begins.
will we get to play these games ???
can someone teach me plz ?
All you have to learn is here : www.ps2dev.org
you'll be allow to use any library you want for the contest, so including SDL, etc.. only constraint is to be open-source and made with the free and open-source tools and toolchain.
you also have 10 days left before the contest start to setup your environement and learn a few things
Just curious - how many actual submissions do you get? Just from general perusal of this site and many like it, the majority of PS2 people are kids with no real knowledge (i.e. "I done downloaded a game off the internets, now what???"). I'm not holding myself out to be a PS2 gawd or even knowledgeable in much of anything, I'm just curious how many true coders there are out there.
More than you realize. Some people learn a lot about the hardware and have actual progress, but never submit what they have been working on.
