mrbrown, a developer know for his work on the PS2 Linux Memory card patch has finished and tested ps2atad, a device driver providing low-level ATA support for hard disk drives.
ps2atad builds upon the ps2dev9 driver (part of the ps2drv project), is compatable with the propriety version albeit faster, smaller and complete with source code.
Another hdd driver is being worked on by an unnamed developer that is said to have even greater performance and other features....
