Well, the port is moving really well and is quite active. Thanks to all the coders who are very interested into that beeing real (evilo, shazz, and of course gawd). This is still work in progress, but, it's really not sleeping There are some SDL softwares which are already compiling and working. It's really awesome
please tell us more pixel, specially interested in a good mediaplayer with hd support
A mediaplayer is really not what we seek to have on the ps2 when porting the SDL. As EugeneWE3RD said, the goal is mainly having http://www.libsdl.org/games.php?perpage=all this list of games beeing available for PS2. Furthermore, creators of simple emulators or small softwares usually don't bother with huge hardware, and a small SDL layer is just enough for them. I know that engines such as the "Heart of the Alien" recode by gawd work.
where is the ELF file for PS2?
There is no elf file because SDL is a programming library. You use it with the PS2DEV compilers/libraries to build SDL programs. This was ported to PS2 so that the games located at http://www.libsdl.org/games.php?perpage=all could be build to run on PS2.
