I agree. This is incredible news. This, IMO, will defintely open up the door in the PS2DEV homebrew scene because there are ports of Doom (Doom, Doom 2, Final Doom Ultimate Doom), Quake, Quake 2, Heretic/Hexen, Descent 1/2 written using the SDL library & these ports come with source code.

E-UAE ( http://www.rcdrummond.net/uae/) is a version of the UAE Amiga emulator which has been updated to support the SDL library.
So many progs use SDL & SDL is the premiere programming library for open source software & even closed source software.
I also like to add that there are several media players which use the SDL library & with the SDL port to PS2, it's quite possible to port these media players to PS2 & since many of them are open source, PS2 Dever's can add new features to the media players.
