another thing, about apps with stealth do we even have any idea that it makes any difference and even so what we really need to do is compile a list of all those ppl who have actually been banned for playing backups online or for having a jailbroken/cfw ps3 because if its loads then we should think about just getting the dongles working again on 3.55 and perhaps altering it so it installs apps directly to external hdd or usb stick so theres nothing custom or installed on the ps3 thats the only way to really have a stealth ps3.
BTW a list of all those who have actually been banned for playing backups online or for having jailbroken/cfw ps3's is not a bad idea because if its zero we are clearly just being paranoid.

Really nice! However we'll only be able to effectively protect ourselves from bans, once Sony starts banning. This will give us an idea as to what they really can/can't see. Also that may completely change in the next update, which I'm sure will be filled with hidden patches to try and trip us up.
Sony knows this, and that's why I bet the haven't dropped the ban hammer yet, Because they will be planning all there moves in this battle with us (or the cat & mouse game as they call it). They've may have lost the battle, but the war is not over my friends. We have one hell of a bumpy ride ahead, so fasten your seatbelts and grab the popcorn.....

You Sir are an impassable. No one has been banned yet because [INSERT MY LAST POST HERE]. Anyone playing backups/homebrew online is going to get banned eventually, unless they go back to OFW before the ban wave starts/ don't connect to PSN when they start. I recommend just staying offline or on 3.41 until the ban wave starts and real progress based on tests in stealthing the CFW is made. ATM were just guessing and the chances are we won't have covered everything. (For instance we could have many different PS3's running different settings to see which gets banned and which doesn't. If they all get banned we know there is some serious work that needs to be done etc.)

that is why in my comment you will notice i said we should focus on getting the dongles working again so we dont need custom firmware, also i think i mentioned a pretty good idea if i dont say so myself if its possible it would be better and more stealth to have the apps install to ext hdd instead of internal so theres nothing but official firmware installed on the ps3's.

I dont like it. It is dishonesty. No thanks. I will stay being honesty. Being dishonesty is lower than a criminal. Sorry but it is not right things to do. Its wrong, really. That's my opinion.

Ok this may sound a little silly but, if you get banned can't you just create a new account and get back on PSN or dose it lock out the whole PS3.

I haven't seen this question answered yet, I have all my disc based games backed up on my ps3's internal HDD. I haven't logged on psn since I flashed Kmeaw and Geohot's CFW. I have a few homebrew apps like multiman, ftp, etc. I even have my internet connection option disabled in the settings menu. Im picking up Dead space 2 tomorrow and I want to play it online, you think they'll tag me for a potential ban? Heard from another post that if you create a new user account on your ps3 (not a new psn account) and play on psn from there, it doesnt send sony what you have going on. apparently the "boot_history.dat is separate for each account." (Nion, http://psgroove.com/content.php?685-...age=2#comments) Check it out, interesting idea. Thanks.
