10 bucks says no one mentions they have been transmitting personal information for the last 5 years and anyone could sniff packets to get that info...BEFORE they were hacked....why wasnt it secured in 5 years? thats quite a bit of time, and Sony supposely has resources to hire people to do just that. Could it have been an inside job from the 205 employees laid off with thier tools for 2 weeks that was pretty much up to the day of the hack? why cant they trace back to the point of hack...and figure out what IP it orginated from? doesnt every single ISP provide that information? aka ...you are from california usa ip. here's PSN USA information...etc. is home brew illegal? oh thats right it is not. I even have an email from SCEA stating its perfectly legal, along with installing custom firmware on the USA PS3s. what happens to the people that do not update to the newest firmware to get back on PSN. are they compensated like everyone else? After all they were victims of the "hack attack" too. Information over 10 years old. hmmm PS3 is not 10 years old, so they had information from PS2 added. hmm, should PS2 owners be compensated as well, even if they never had ps3 consoles. After all thier information was also "hacked". if they are smart, they better blurt out everything is encrypted now...blah blah blah...etc. if not, they are in same boat as before. oh and packet sniffers have been around since windows 95 and before on pcs, which is what... 16 years. and transmiting in plaintext for over 10 of that...hmm.. lots of potential bad stuff. I do not condone hacking, i do not condone piracy. I do suggest if we purchase a product, we should be able to do what we please with it without harm. if you soup up a car with a faster engine. still obey the street laws. if you mod a console, respect thier online access laws..etc. if you use the souped up car for dirt track racing, dont try to sue the manufacturer for harm that may occur because you changed functionality. That goes the same for the manufacturer, if the person mods it. feel free to break the warranty and released from any pending lawsuits. Just because a person wants to use an icetray as a screw holder while working on laptops, doesnt mean they broke laws by not only filling it with water that turns into ice.
3DS Owner: *slaps forehead* "Should have had a Vita."
As much as I liked PSN getting hacked, I was really hoping they would not bring this up. I just wanted them to bring on the good news. But nope, they had to remind everyone.
Did you get the joke though ISOHaven?
