i never said cheaters suck or screw cheaters, not my words or even close to what i meant. i did ask if someone could explain to me why anyone would want to cheat, so half of your post is very informative to me, it could have done without the first half where you passed judgement so fast, dont just fly to conclusions my dear man.

appreciate the logical response. the only thing I was replying harshly to in your post was the last line, which was a little judgmental:

I'm imaging a Batman: Arkham hack to let you run around as joker in the main game... just map some batman tools or something.

this cheat uses the e3 dongle, dongles couldnt work above 3.41 so thus i deduce that it can ONLY work with 3.41 the compatibility they speak of is downgrading higher firmwares to 3.41 which their dongle can do free of charge. hope this helps

what i want this device to do, or any dev to do is find a way to unlock dlc that is already on the disc, i paid for the contents of the disc so dlc already on the disc is mine!!!

All of these things essentially do the same thing. They alter the memory address so it will either freeze values, alter values or remove values. This is how these thigns have ALWAYS worked. I still haven't seen anywhere that explains why its needed on 3.41 vs 3.55. Is there some type of service call to RAM that isn't possible in 3.55?

Hacking memory to cheat at games is quite common. Look at flash games. Target the instance, snapshot the RAM, edit address, save, and BAM. Cheat enabled. How else could I have gotten 5 billion points in Bejewelled in Facebook?

I wish one of the devs of the BM's would explain why its not currently possible. I'm all about the why of something...

It currently is possible but the ps3 scene really just doesn't have many different devs working on anything i think there are 3 active devs for the ps3 that really means there are none because there usually just cutting out rehashes of the same emulators over and over again or just small updates to there chosen backup manager ,when was the last time a new original program came out for the ps3.... right after the scene started and its been months of silence.

I dont quite understand the broken english instructions on how to use it. Anyone care to translate it into a bit more structured english?

I'm not Chinese but from what i could gather -

You download the upgrade .zip file
You put the GoldenFinger.bin in your E3Upgrader drive and the other folder in the E3_4M_Stick drive.
Then you remove the E3 from the computer and it upgrades(you come to know because the GoldenFinger.bin file is gone.
Then you put the stick in your ps3 and start with power-eject combo.
Then select a game from a backup manager(or insert a disk if you want) and then go to /app_home/PS3_GAME you will see E3 GoldenFinger
start it, select the cheats you want and then start the game.

As long as it doesn't let you cheat in Multiplayer, it's A-OK with me.

Also, IIRC I actually owned a PS1 Golden Finger exactly like in that picture hahha.

Well considering that people who have jailbroken their PS3 can't get online, I think it's pretty safe t say they won't be cheating in multiplayer anytime soon.
