Right on Uns every test i have read says compatibality is a huge problem and i can find no one that has even tryed a dvd9 burned game on a PS2 yet but if you want to try it and post your results i would likie to read them.
I'm still waiting on pioneer (and others) to finish the -R9 standard--it's a lot more likely to become a true standard than the 'de-facto' sony +R9 'standard'.
DVD Alliance aka DVD+ has never been my favorite group, as they lied that 1st generation DVD+RW drives will be able to write DVD+R disks (that time they failed to create a working one hehe, so simply released the rewritable format first) with a simple firmware upgrade.... As time passed it turned to be a lie, and all users had to buy a new drive. Second trick was that compatibility with bitsetting, which is not available in all drives, so it does not help that much. The DVD Forum with the minus format has always been a MUCH reliable partner of their clients, so tricks like those above have never happened. Probably the first one will be the Pioneer 106 firmware upgrade that would make DL writing possible. It won't happen, no matter what users want. So all in all this is a dirty bussines, selling expenisve media and nothing else....
