"We're happy to announce to completion of DMS3 for v9 PS2 consoles. DMS3 for v9 is a seperate chip from the v1.0 and v2.0 DMS3 and will only work on v9 consoles. The flash used by the v9 chip will remain compatible with v1.0 and v2.0 chips. DMS3 for v9 is 100% v9 compatible, even when the console has a $ony HDD installed in it and the system upgrade installed. Since some v9 consoles come bundled with a HDD, we decided it only made sense to deal with this issue now. It doesn't make much sense to install a new chip when it won't work with your HDD...
Release for this chip is scheduled for the end of September.

well this is a good thing and a bad thing for both dms3 and messiah 2 but at least messiah 2 can be used in other models

yes that and the fact that the midnight blue unit comes with a hdd built in and the latest hdd browser.
