Correct. Macro off is only for component (A/V) cable output (Video/L-Audio/R-Audio). Using a RGB cable which splits the video signal into Red/Green/Blue, the Macro is off, but you have a green tint to the screen. This is what the RGB fix is for.

cheap one same quality as ps2 leads £6-£7 here
£20 for good one not needed for ps2 quality
