Custom Firmware 3.41 HERMES (payload v4 included)

whats different between this and kmeaw? All my games work fine with that so Ill stick to it. Only games that don't work are the same ones that didnt with 3.41 (sega all star racing and prince of persia forgotten sands)

both works on 3.41 (popfs need to use pkg method)

According to the first post(which you should have read) you try to update normally and if that doesn't work you use recovery mode. So no....you don't need to jailbreak to install this........

Installed using this link from PS3News:

Just did it through the normal XMB updater.

And am using the second payload .pkg:

Working just like with the dongle, I've even changed my user title .

Works for the slim 160gb cech-2501a. Installed from XMB from 3.41 OFW without JB dongle running.

beats the hell out of freezing and dongles. :P

Would be nice if it spoofed 3.55 in the system menu like the dongle. A few things ask for an upgrade now that didn't before like the LBP2 extras crap that was installed with the game. Maybe that is something that could be added to the PayloadHV4 package.

After gathering confidence and guts, finally upgraded my PS3 CECH2012A to this CFW and SUCCEEDED!

I tried playing all my games on GAIA manager 1.14.2 like GT5 and NBA 2k11 and they both worked perfectly. Also all my XMB games works flawlessly.


Use this pre-patched I made.. This is the one I used.

Thanks, but it's always more useful to post the MD5 hash of the file, that way others can know 100% that they are using the exact same file you are.

I'm confused about all of this CFW's. Can someone tell me which of these all firmware's is the best? I mean:

-playing online, PS strore
-playing backups without pluging dongle (without BR disc inside), and without any homebrew that "open" my LV2 for manager, just turn on PS3 and play
-best game complatibility (or at least compatibility like hermes V4b), no freezes etc.
-downloading updates for games (like update 1.05 for GT5)
-no chance of PS3 brick
-installing all hombrew (from the jailbreak dongle times, for ftp, emulators etc.)

Is there now CFW that have all these things?

Also isn't PL3 better as HERMES gives some games more access than they need?

And as they are payloads why do we need like 6 different firmwares, why can't we have 1 custom firmware and have the payloads included in the backup managers or something or having the payload chosen when booting the PS3?

uh guys i installed this and i dont have gamez directory o_o lols nuuuuuuuuuuuu!!! but i think i still have my internal hd games since its 9gb remaning for my 120gb but dam i have to use a disk all the time now? :S?

edit: nvm lol i didnt load up the payload yet thats why lol omg that freaked me out for a second lols , i can say that it works on a slim ps3 cech2001A and without disk ^_^
