Crystal Chip Firmware Delay Thanks to Rippers!?

Seems like the crystal chip team is also suffering from the attack of the clones. Recent quote from their site news :

it's their fault according to me... they must have protected their BM since the first release! it works with any chips, it works also using the exploit.... so it's their fault

Well it is open source right? Seems anyone could have their way with open source code as far as porting to other hardware. I don't agree with ripping others' work but I always wondered how they aimed to protect their investment with the firmware being open.

It's not their firmware that's being ripped. It's their Bootmanager s/w. At least that's what their post. Their Bootmanager is not open source while the firmware is.

But just because its not protected doesnt mean its an open invitation for lamers to use it for whatever they want. I guess that doesnt matter now though, they are adding protections to their BM now.
