Pixel of PS2Dev.org has released a new tool for everyone to play with called CD-Tool.

It's more or less an alternative to CDGENPS2, but with a few more features like patching images with PPFs, read/write sectors to images, inserting and extracting files to and from isos. rea This tool is probably not for beginners and it would be best to read up on LUA.

In any case, you can get this new tool here on PS2Dev.org

    Ah, ho, hehe

Well, maybe some people might actually USE that software! :P

Until now, only I was using it on a private basis. But it might as well be useful for other people. Well, I am aware that using this tool is quite difficult, but, I can keep some hope, no?

    --edit--

Ho, and, fyi, if I created cd-tool, it was because I am translating PSX/PS2 games into french, and PPF is REALLY not an option in such case. So I came up with a quite wicked "patch system", each patch beeing a whole LUA code. Then, for example, my (very versatile) Parasite Eve's french patch is only 600KB large, containing all the necessary data, plus the patching script.

Well, feel free to ask support or tutorials or anything. Ho, no: I won't help you patching your hdthingy iso, nor applying cracks such as disc id stuff. But a trainer, why not. And translations, yes! That's exactly the point of that software. BTW: it only works with CD images right now... DVD images is... well... it could work, but, not it is not designed to at all.

On a side note, it is really easy actually. But you need some programming knowledge and experience.

Well, now, you could also use it a simple iso-file generator. Which is the big reason I released it on the PS2Dev's website: the ps2link-builder.lua is a nice script that could be used to replace the actual iso making stuff into ps2link's makefile. Good for automated process.
