Well, normally I don't report on matters outside of the Sony world, but since I am Canadian and this will effect alot of us, even viewing this site might become "illegal" soon here in Canada if this "Made-By-Us-Lobby-Groups" law gets passed here in my home country.
It has been tried before in Canada and lucky it has always failed to get pass or our gov. has been forced into an election, because of the media, and public outcry, hopefully that will happen again.
But the push is on again, and at 3:30pm our gov. tabled the new "Copyright Bill called C-32" which will if passed by our "House of Commons", which the gov. wants to have done by June 21th, alot of common everyday things will be illegal, basically anything with a "digital lock" on it, you will not be able to bypass for any reason.

If you are Canadian, please speak out and fight this by all means possible.
Here is all the related links for more info, and to fight for our rights:

Find attached the full legalize fine print of the C-32 bill, which reading makes for a very sad day indeed, for us fellow canadians if this bill passes as-is!

Actually the equivalent is already in place here, just most of the US doesn't know it yet. The people funding this are also the same ones who helped to establish this BS here. The people doing it in Canada using the excuse that they are trying to bring their laws more "inline" with ours.
Basically the US government already sold us out to the highest bidder, now the bidders are trying their luck up north yet again. This was shot down once before but they will keep trying until they are actually stopped from attempting it entirely.
A bad law can be shot down a million times, it only has to pass once and after that, good luck getting it repealed. Just take a look at the US and its stance on Marijuana. They have it outlawed (based on lies they admitted to after it passed) yet alcohol is still legal. Kinda like outlawing the pelt rifle and legalizing the bazooka if you ask me.
Edit: And no I do not smoke. I actually don't drink, smoke or do any drugs I was just using it as a reference as to how hard a bad law is to remove after it has gotten on the books regardless of how bad the system and public was lied to and abused to put it there.

I hope it doesn't ever happened here in the US. We all need to fight against this because i think this has also almost happened here in the Us to. We all need to stand up for freedom if not we could lose it. The reason why this is happening is because the UN united nations is a communist government system that is meddling with country's laws and if they could get it done there then they could here in the US also.
There goal is to control the whole world economically politically and military if we all don't fight this world wide we will all be enslaved and lose our freedoms and be force to have a chip implanted in our body's that's what they want to be able to control people and the population of the planet.
If Canada takes away your wrights to view a web sight like psx scene then it could also happen here in the US. The root of the problem is the UN and it is in Europe so i hope people in Europe that values freedom will fight to shut the UN down but this is a world wide problem and we need to fight this world wide that means anywhere in the world any body that is reading this needs to take action.
The UN is using the US as a tool to Muscle there dominance on the world with out the US the UN would be a lot weaker. The CFR also picks the president of the US. Obama is communist and is a puppet on a string controlled by the puppet master UN also all of our political elections are rigged they play us off with republican or democrat but in the background a secret government is controlling who gets to be president in fact the president could already be picked before the election and the 1 who is picked is the 1 who gets all the financial support from the largest corporations in the world so that they are able to win the election our volts doesn't count.
Here is some things i know about the UN and the problems it has caused since it started in the late 30s to early 40s and the list is to much for me to list here but i will give some info to find this out for yourself at the end of this post here. The UN is the cause of all major wars world 1 and world war 2 international bankers profited off of both ends of these wars and is also the cause of the depression of the 1930s. These bankers JP Morgan and Rockefeller met on a island in 1913 to draft the federal reserve act that way they would have the right to print the concurrency of the US that is why the US has a growing debt that gets larger not smaller the bankers print for interest they just enter numbers in a computer and print money dollars bills are worthless there not backed by gold anymore president Nixon during the 70s removed the gold standard so money is just a worthless piece of paper we use for concurrency. The Us has the constitutional wright to print money yet it doesn't . These bankers are some of the first UN founders John D Rockefeller donated the land that the UN building sets on in NY i thank we should kick the UN out of the US and take back our sovereignty if not we could lose it.
Sorry for such a long post i just found a thread i can express myself in. if you want to check it out watch the documentary End Game a blue print for global enslavement the Obama deception 1 and 2 and the film new world order these are very interesting and will explain in detail about some of the things i have tried to explain in this post also go to the website infowars.com Alex Jones is a journalist and he is the 1 who made these documentarys. DOWN WITH THE UN AND OBAMA

Does Canada have something equivalent to the EFF?
EFF.org
This place has all the info on what different companies and the U.S. gov is doing to try to trample your digital rights.

I just got off the phone with the office of my MP.
I explained -- in detail -- that I am all for protecting the rights of copyright holders but I am outraged at the idea that a "technological protection" will trump any right that the consumer has. I expressed my expectation that he would vote against the bill unless it is amended to allow circumventions for the purposes of fair dealing.
That was the first time ever I took the time to contact a politician. If an introvert such as myself, whose English is not that good (it's my 3rd language) can do it, SO CAN YOU!
Because if this atrocity passes, the question will be WHAT THE FU(K DID YOU DO TO STOP IT? And if you didn't do anything, IT WILL BE YOUR FU(KING FAULT!
So call your MP, both in their home office and in Ottawa. Then follow up with a letter, a handwritten one -- to show your dedication.
Link: Contact your MP.
What are you waiting for?

It's a colloquialism for what the DMCA calls "a technological measure that effectively controls access to a work", often shortened in analysis to "technological protection measures" (I'm not sure what the wording of the Canadian bill is since I can't find the actual text, but it's probably similar since it's modeled after the DMCA). In other words, any technological system that allows the copyright holder to set up a policy deciding whether you are or aren't allowed to use a particular piece of copyrighted material. This overlaps with the old-school concept of "copy protection", but it's a broader idea that also includes region lockouts, player blacklists (e.g. Blu-ray player model XYZ321 is found to be softmoddable to disable HDMI encryption, so future discs ship without XYZ321's decryption key rendering them unplayable in that player), and other such stuff.
