Simple.. get a USED console, none of your money to sony. Face it, we're going to have to play cat and mouse for online, a modded console has no business online with stock consoles, because it can lead to people cheating, if you want to play online, use Xlink Kai or something similar.

Again, just conjecture. If you're going into this thinking that backups AND psn together is the only way to spell victory, then have at it. You don't speak for everyone though (and neither do I.)

I own my PS3, I run whatever I can/want on it. Sony owns PSN, they are welcome to keep it. Seriously all the hype about PSN is boring me to

Let's put things into perspective and enjoy what we have. It is not a battle scene vs. sony, it is a game of cat and mouse between devs and sony. Everyone else is just a leech including me.

How Math is an asshole and is always claiming he calls stuff early, how geohot is really egohot and how marcan is an ass because he can't stop ridiculing Waninkoko...and how Wanker is an ass because he released CFW without testing and bricked PS3'S. I think the real "epic fail" here are some of you, the users, posting in this forum, talking about how the game is over and Sony has won again and blah blah blah. Why. Why are there always so many morons and simpletons who don't have the foresight to see that CLEARLY the game is not, has never been, and never will be over?!

The reason the devs are so much smarter than some of us? They have patience.

Some of you really need to learn patience. I can predict, with a certain degree of accuracy, that 3.56 will be cracked within a weeks time. Sony CANNOT prevent these hacks from occurring, they can only delay them until the next hardware iteration. So while you're all here groaning and once again proclaiming the premature death of the scene, when it only just began to come alive, just do the world a favor and find another forum to patronize. Maybe one predicting the life expectancy of Elizabeth Taylor. Give it time you ****ing dicks, give it time. We have a brain trust that outsmarted a multi-million dollar team of security engineers and the good folks at IBM. Do you really think we'll lose this battle, after we've already seen what Sony security engineers are capable of? Get real.

Why is it that the most pissed off people in this thread are people who seem to be pirating games, how hard is it to pay for a $60.00 game even cheaper if its used. I mean its not like there are block buster after blockbuster coming out for the PS3. Even when I was young my mom didn't have alot of money for games. So I researched found out what was the best games and I saved my little bit of money for them. I mean wow all this talk about win for the pirates and i need to be online with my backups is getting annoying.

If they can release updates like crazy like in the psp, they can do that again with the ps3 so the battle isn't win. Even if the scene has the codes sony still will be releasing updates every single month or so and as you can see the scene takes a while in order to make a new cfw so online will never be something stable.
Who cares about backups for offline play anyway? today consoles only care about online.

My solution is two HD's. My original 80gig with clean OFW for all the multiplayer games I care to play. Then a separate 320gig I picked up I will leave as CFW 3.55 and play single player backups on there.

If you think they BAN YOU by user PSN accounts your so not with this...Leave this as a learning cuve ffs

Also, I never registered a psn account to my second drive so no need to ever worry about a console ban.

They DONT BAN you by PSN accounts alone IF either LOL
They BAN you by MAC ADRESS/Serial Number/IP is among these...and alot of other things.....

This only lasts for around a 7 day lease....(with the server associated....

basically YOU CAN STILL play your backups through YOUR CHOSEN backup manager ONLINE until its been restricted....AGAIN !!!
