And here comes the endless cat and mouse game. Dev's and semi-dev's (waninkoko for instance) will be constantly keeping up with this trend until they get sick of it.

I'd rather just accept the fact that I can't play online and never will instead of dealing with constant updates and constant fear of bricks from incompetent dev's.

I said this a long time ago and I will say it again, Anyone who is smart and cares about their console will just stick with their OFW 3.41 and quit worrying about PSN.

If you care about PSN so much then just buy another console so you dont have to worry about this crap on a daily basis.

CFW is a waste of time, risk, and effort at this point. Deal with what you have that already works fine instead of risking your precious console.

I agree with most of what you said, except cfw being a waste of time. I think its well worth it, but not for playing online, just for not needing to jailbreak with a dongle or my iphone anymore. 3.41 hermes is working fantastic, and now when there is an update payload, I just install a new pkg instead of flashing hex codes to a development board. But I am happy to be out of the cat and mouse game with a nice stable hacked firmware. That is why to this day I have 5.00 m33-6 on my psp. And Like you said buying another console for psn is the way to go.

Creating a custom firmware if Sony fixed the signing will require patching lv1, something no one has yet done and will make the task much more complex.

Would be nice if we could have our own PSN server, i'd be happy if i could just play with my homebrew homies, then who cares what firmware updates Sony puts out.

That would be cool…kinda like Kai on Xbox360 ….or just make it where the emulators (or other home-brew) just use the PS3s internet connection (wired or wireless) to connect directly to another user like ZSNES does (or even older, the Saturn NetLink)

Yeah but was he doing anything funked up on the server or playing normally, maybe he got banned for using mod/hacks. Could you find out please whether it was for running a game on cfw or for mod/hacks in-game?
