How temporary is temporary ?!
Considering some of the Fail0verflow members aren't even American, the TRO doesn't apply to them. I have a feeling someone outside of the court's jurisdiction will release it or it will be anonymously posted somewhere.

Agreed, I run BO from my hard drive as well and play it online. That said, I have the disc too. My only issue is with the cheaters.

I still believe XBMC is the reason we have Netflix and DLNA playback on consoles in the first place, until then no corporate head would have been forward-thinking enough to conceive the notion that people want to view networked media or stream through the internet.
Homebrew has led the way in changing the way companies view consumer interest for features.
Probably gonna get flamed for being a newb for asking this but can someone please just explain to me the change in 3.56 ?
I am just struggling to understand how we have gone from 'The PS3 in its current hardware form is completely hacked and open, FOREVER', only a few weeks ago, to now, only one firmware update later being told 'if you update to 3.56 you can never install a CFW or homebrew again without a hardware flasher'.
Was it never fully hacked in the first place then?, was it all just hype?. We were all being told there was nothing Sony could ever do without changing the hardware, but clearly they have found a way.
Sorry if my post offends anyone.
The "key of keys" so to speak was never leaked yet it was obtained. Now with the restraining order, no one who has access to said key will publicly release it or leak it with any chance of it coming back to them.

Not exactly fair. It's ridiculous to assume that everyone running CFW has no purchased games and only run "backups". I for example, would like to be able to play my purchased copy of Demon's Souls online. Definitely not flipping out though, I was well aware that using CFW came with not being able to use PSN reliably/at all, and I have the DNS trick for now, so I am more than satisfied.

And if I dont want to play online I havent much to worry about, yeah? Stick to 3.55 and play away?
I don't care about PSN, but I changed my DNS settings anyway to prevent any chance of a forced upgrade from Sony (from what I understand, the DNS server is specifically null-routing any update server IP). I would prefer no information reaches Sony at all due to their use of Akamai to push content--I doubt the server is blocking Akamai due to its use by everyone everywhere. If I'm not doing anything online, does the PS3 try to contact Sony anyway? Should I null-route everything myself in the DNS settings, thereby cutting myself off from any online use at all?
