The best PlayStation2 Cheat Device just got better! You can now boot all your HomeBrew Applications and Emulators without even having to modify your console! All you need is a PlayStation2 with FlashPen/JumpDrive/External Hardrive even your IPOD(In DataMode)! No need to re-burn multiple discs to play your old favorites, just load them onyour flashpen and be on your way.

We've had this as a possibility for a long time now, but I think it's time we let the users take a stand on this. What would you think if we went to some of the homebrew makers out there and built their files into files that could be put onto an USB Flash Device and booted via Code Breaker PS2?

We could do genesis emulators, naplink, code majic, basically anything we wanted to and had permission to do so with. Of course, nothing illegal would be "OK"d as this causes many numerous issues. And noone else in the world can sign the files that boot from USB Flash Device with Code Breaker PS2 besides us.
The method it would work is quite simple:
    1. You need Code Breaker PS2 V7.0 or higher.
    2. We'd have a .zip file for download that contains a pelican.bin for the app you want to download.
    3. You'd put it on your USB Flash Device's root folder.
    4. Insert the USB Flash Device into your PS2 and boot Code Breaker PS2.

After a short loading, the app would boot up instead of the Code Breaker PS2 main menu.

To go back to Code Breaker PS2, you simply just boot Code Breaker PS2 without the USB Flash Device plugged in, or delete the pelican.bin from your USB Flash Device. In no way does it modify anything on ur system to stop you from using Code Breaker PS2.

    goto http://www.cmgsccc.com/ps2/homebrew/
And grab some goods such as
    • SNES Station
    • PGEN (Genesis Emu)
    • PS2 Reality Media Player
    • SMS Media Player
    • NapLink

Wasting no time Misfire has already shown his ability to get his own files popping up on screen, for more info on that check out his thread at GSHI http://gshi.org/vb/showthread.php?t=1725

Definitely good for the slim ps2 users with no chip. Although it would be better if they set ule up like that.

Sounds good. But I prefer it the way I have it now. Just hold R1 when booting and I'm in uLaunchElf and from there I can go everywhere I want. No pendrive or cd needed

I agree. A chip with dev mode is the best way to boot homebrew. However this is yet another avenue for those unsure about mod chips to be able to enjoy homebrew, which I guess is a good thing . just kind of a roundabout way of doing it.

Its a pity that these people put anti-mod chip code on this product when I don't think its even recognized by Sony and boarder lines on violation infringement its self. They mention "nothing illegal". This is obviously hinting at HDL. Surely HDL can be made to boot in this manner as well by setting up your own files on the pen drive.

But really this just seams to me another alternative to the exploit which is FREE and you wont need to buy a pen drive with the exploit as most everyone has at least one PS2 memory card if they have a PS2.

I tried loading the SNES Station v0.2.4 HDD on a version 7 PS2 with my 7.1 CB and it didn't work. It did however work on my CB 8.0.

Did anyone else try this with a 7.1 CB yet?

yeah, I don't think they will approve an elf launcher, because elf launchers can load illegal elfs.

Swap magic is, sadly, the better option for people with slimlines (current versions have an elf loader in it, which can be used even on the famed PSX PVR unit!)

And fot those wit a working independence exploit the same cheat device can install the exploit.

As for those who just want to boot hdloader, well, AR MAX with Max Media Player has that one covered, provided you use the right compressor on hdloader.elf

    it's a nice gestture, though.

Personally i think someone should ake an "elf launcher" cd which can aunch elfs from pen drives, memcards, hd, or spcialy formatted audio-based CDR format. this wold do nothing else. (of course nothing is stopping you froom booting cogswap or zoneloader with it)

is this new codebreaker exploit works on nonmodded pstwo (v12 and up)?
this is goin to be starting line for homebrewing apps/games for pstwos, since sony patched the old mc exploit on the newer ps2 , this would be new option for non modded pstwos to run homebrew apps... the cool here though, if they make bin for ulaunchelf... that would be great cus they wont have to make bin for every homebrew elf that is available... ulaunchelf will just able to execute elf on usb drive.. u know im talking about.. less pain for them coding just one bin...

    really cool discover...
